The nation's best young talent square off at Allan Border Field today

The two highest-ranked teams in the Under 17 National Championships play off for the title today in Brisbane.

Reigning premiers New South Wales Metropolitan, who have only lost one match for the tournament, easily defeated Victoria to enter into their second-consecutive decider.

Hosts Queensland also topped their pool group but had a tougher game yesterday, having to chase down 271 in 50 overs after the Cricket Australia XI powered the monster total and looked like progressing before Queensland chased it down with 14 overs to spare.

The batsman look to play a key role in the match, with the tournament-high run scorer Ryan Hackney mounting 383 runs – including two centuries – in seven innings with NSW Metropolitan opening up today.

On the other side, Queensland’s Max Bryant plundered 141 off just 91 balls yesterday allowing Queensland a chance to claim victory at home.
