Allrounder elevated to leadership role after the retirement of veteran batter Adam Voges
Marsh named Warriors skipper
The Alcohol.Think Again Western Warriors have named allrounder Mitch Marsh as captain for their 2017-18 domestic campaign.
Marsh replaces retired batsman Adam Voges, who took Western Australia to a Domestic One-Day Cup title in 2014-15 after defeating New South Wales by 64 runs.

Marsh, who has played 36 first-class and 32 one-day domestic games for the Warriors, is excited about the opportunity to captain his state.
"I'm very proud to be named Captain; there are some great past players that have lead Western Australia and I'm honoured to be part of that," Marsh said.
"We have a unique group, although it's quite a young group, we have 22 guys that have great leadership qualities and we're all one big leadership group.
"That's also why I feel proud to be named captain because there were so many great candidates."
Marsh will also be joined by fellow allrounder Ashton Turner, who has been named vice-captain for the first time.
"Ashton is a really smart guy, really switched on with cricket and really respected within the group, so it's great to have him to assist," Marsh said.
Having battled injuries for the past 18 months, the Warriors are hopeful the 25-year-old Marsh will play an important role during the JLT One-Day Cup, followed by the JLT Sheffield Shield shortly after, as they look to improve on their fourth-placed finish in the 50-over competition last season.

WACA Head Physiotherapist Nick Jones is confident Marsh will be available for the start of the domestic season, but he is unlikely to be a bowling option for the Warriors early in the summer of cricket.
"Mitch has progressed gradually through his milestones and is expected to be able to play the JLT One Day Domestic Cup as a batter only," Jones said.
"His bowling and throwing progressions will be gradual over the coming month."
The Warriors open their domestic campaign against New South Wales on September 29 at the WACA.
