Bio

A talented allrounder, Chris Woakes will be eager to continue to make his mark for England in all three formats.

After making his first-class debut in 2006, Woakes broke into the England one-day international side in 2011 against Australia in Sydney.

He played three matches on that tour, but a solitary ODI against Ireland was his only other international match for 2011 after he suffered a quad injury.

He had one opportunity for England in 2012 and returned to the side in early 2013, winning 11 ODI caps between then and September 2014.

Woakes also made his Test debut in 2013 against Australia at The Oval and was included in the ODI squad for the November 2014 tour of Sri Lanka, where he played seven matches and took 14 wickets, including 6-47.

He will be looking to improve on his average of 29 with the bat to become a more rounded player in Test cricket.
