Bio

Like his idol Stephen Harmison, Wood hails from Ashington in Northumberland.

The quick does not have the pace or bounce of Harmison, but has found success on the county circuit with his own brand of pace bowling.

Since making his first-class debut in 2011, Wood has captured the attention of England selectors, first chosen for England Lions before working his way into the Test squad for the tour of the West Indies in 2015.

He did not earn a cap on that tour, but his ODI debut followed soon after against Ireland.

He soon was rewarded for his strong county form and debuted for England in Test cricket against New Zealand at Lord's in May 2015. Wood has best figures of 3-39 but has struggled to play consistent international cricket due to injury.
