Matt Henry’s big chance for New Zealand came in January 2014. Included in the squad for the one-day international series against India, Henry was handed his Black Caps debut after an injury to teammate Hamish Bennett.

The right-arm fast-medium bowler grasped the opportunity with both hands, taking 4-38, the third-best figures on debut by a New Zealand player.

Henry made his second ODI appearance against South Africa in Hamilton in October 2014, taking 2-40. He originally missed out on a spot in the World Cup 2015 squad but was called up during the tournament after an injury to Adam Milne.

He has yet to make his Test debut was impressed enough with his domestic form in 2014-15 to be included in the squad to tour England.
