Bio

Alex Cusack was born in Brisbane, Australia, but moved to Ireland aged 22 where he was eligible to play for Ireland thanks to Irish parentage.

A carpenter by trade, Cusack made his first-class debut in August 2007, scoring 130 against Scotland in Belfast and in 2009 he was awarded a professional Cricket Ireland contract.

The allrounder has since represented his adopted country more than 100 times, including 53 one-day international appearances.

He was a member of Ireland’s 2011 Cricket World Cup squad where he formed a successful partnership with Kevin O’Brien in Ireland’s win over England. The pair scored 162 runs in 17 overs and while O’Brien record breaking century received the most attention, Cusack’s 47 was also vital.
