Still only 18, Ben Dwarshuis has drawn comparisons to former Australian spearhead Mitchell Johnson.
The left-armed paceman has a very similar action to the Western Australian quick, and has also shown an ability to clear the pickets.
Dwarshuis took 20 wickets and scored 322 runs for Sutherland in Sydney’s Grade competition last season, while he dominated in the lower grades as well.
In a seven day stretch, Dwarshuis grabbed the headlines with some freakish performances with both bat and ball.
After smashing an unbeaten 96 in the Poidevin Gray Shield, the 18 year old creamed 162 in Second grade.
He didn’t do a bad job with the ball either, taking 2-19 in the Under 19’s, 3-11 in seconds, and 2-15 in a First-grade t20 fixture.
Dwarshuis also hammered 86 at a strike rate of nearly 200 in First-grade to confirm his status as one of the players to watch in 2013/14.
