Bio

The son of former Test quick Craig and brother of Queensland teammate Alister, Ben McDermott made his state debut in the 2013-14 season for Brisbane Heat in the KFC T20 Big Bash League, scoring 30 in his first match against Adelaide Strikers.

He had signed a rookie contract at the start of that season but didn't make his debut for the Bulls until the following summer.

His maiden first-class match was one to forget; he made scores of 0 and 2 and was the second wicket in Chadd Sayers's hat-trick at Adelaide Oval.

A right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, McDermott played all six matches for Australia at the 2014 under-19 World Cup.
