Profile

Ellyse Perry is probably the best athlete in the country at the moment. It is hard enough reaching the highest level in one sport….let alone two.

The dual international is the youngest player to ever represent Australia, having made her debut as a 16 year old. That was before she had even played for the Lend Lease Breakers!

Perry has developed into a clutch player of the highest order. She claimed 4/23 in the 2008/09 WNCL Final to help NSW win the title.

In the 2010 ICC T20 World Cup decider, Perry took 3/18, and had to bowl the final over as Australia clung on to defeat arch rivals New Zealand.

And earlier this year, Perry snared 3/19 in the World Cup Final against the West Indies, despite being troubled by an ankle injury.

Perry has dominated the ODI circuit since making her debut in 2007. She averaged 23 with both the bat and ball, and is a proven match winner.

She hit her maiden half-century against New Zealand in 2008, and managed 45* in her most recent outing in England.

She has taken 79 wickets from 57 matches, and has two five-wicket hauls. Her bets figures came against India in 2012, where she claimed 5/19.

Perry wasted little time in T20 cricket, claiming a career best 4/20 on debut against England.

She has gone on take 47 wickets from as many matches, while her clean hitting makes her a threat with the bat as well.

Perry has managed ten wickets in her four Tests, including 4/56 off 28 overs in 2011.

Often having to juggle between soccer and cricket, Perry has maintained her professionalism in both fields.

In 2009/10, she hit her highest score (66) in the WNCL, while she claimed NSW best figures of 5-11 the following year against the ACT.

With over 100 domestic wickets to her name, as well as roughly 500 runs, she is one of the elite all-rounders in the game.

Her genuine pace at the top of an innings strikes fear into most batting line-ups, while her nerves at the death make her a valued asset.

Her exploits make her a genuine sporting all-rounder that we have never seen before.
