After starting out his career in England with County side Lancashire, the big hitting batsmen burst onto the radar of South African selectors with an outstanding campaign in the South African domestic competition, where he scored 567 runs in 10 matches.
He earned his ODI debut in 2011, where he made 60 against a star-studded India. This saw him earn a call-up into the South African World Cup squad.
Du Plessis has made a name for himself in T20, where he has excelled for a number of franchises.
