Bio

Henry Thornton's talent was identified at an early age when he was selected in the Under-13 Cricket NSW Academy Program.

Several years later, the tall quick and hard-hitting lower-order batsman was rewarded with a NSW Blues rookie contract.

During the 2015-16 summer, Thornton was part of the NSW Metro team which won the Under-19 National Championships, and he was subsequently selected in the Australian Under-19 team for a series against England in Perth.

He was the leading wicket-taker during the ODI section of that tour, snaring 13 scalps at 13.46.

Thornton also spent some of the off-season training at the Bupa National Cricket Centre in Brisbane but unfortunately, he missed the Australian Under-19 team's tour of England through injury.

He was again rewarded for strong performances with a full contract for the Blues in 2017-18.
