Player Story

ames Tredwell became a fixture for England in limited overs cricket after making his one-day international debut in 2010.

The off-spinner helped Kent to championship promotion in 2009 with 69 first-class wickets. His reward was a call-up to the England team for a tour of South Africa to cover for Graeme Swann, who was battling to overcome an injury.

Swann recovered in time to deny Tredwell his Test debut, but the spinner’s chance came in March 2010 in Bangladesh and he grasped the opportunity by taking six wickets.

The same tour brought his ODI debut and Tredwell went on to feature in two matches during the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. His best performance at the tournament was 4-48 against the West Indies.

After a break from international cricket, Tredwell played four matches for England during the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Since Swann’s retirement, Tredwell has enjoyed more chances in limited-overs cricket in 2014, including his career best ODI figures of 4-41 against Scotland in May.

He played five matches during the late-2014 ODI series against Sri Lanka.

He has taken 11 wickets in two Tests, 60 wickets from 45 ODI's and seven wickets from 17 T20Is.
