Jay Lenton is proof that hard work does pay off.
Originally from the Central Coast, Lenton once held a NSW Blues rookie contract but was dropped at the end of the 2013-14 season.
This proved to be just a temporary setback with two impressive seasons in the McDonald's Sydney Grade competition, and for NSW in the Toyota Futures League, keeping his name in the minds of the selectors.
Lenton's opportunity finally came at the start of the 2015-16 season.
He started the grade season with a bang, becoming the first player in the history of the competition to score three consecutive centuries, with each one coming in a different format, before making his first-class debut when the Blues played Victoria at the SCG.
