Born in Sri Lanka, Manjula Guruge made his first-class debut in 1999.
Fifteen years later, the pacer was given his first one-day international opportunity when he lined up against Scotland in the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup qualification tournament in New Zealand in early 2014.
Guruge, who had previously represented his adopted county at first-class level, took five wickets in his first three ODIs, including 3-67 on debut.
He was impressive in the World Cup warm-up tour of Australia in September 2014, taking 6-30 against Western Australia.
