Bio

A latecomer to the international cricket scene, Saeed Ajmal played his maiden one-day international at the age of 30 in 2008.

Since then the off-spinner has more than made up for lost time, earning a reputation as one of the world’s best spinners.

In 111 ODIs Ajmal collected 183 wickets, including his best outing against India in early 2013 when he collected 5-24.

A member of Pakistan’s 2011 Cricket World Cup squad, he played two matches at the tournament with his best return of 2-18 coming against West Indies.

Ajmal has had an even bigger impact on the Test arena, recording 10 five-wicket hauls from his first 35 matches, including a five-for in his debut match.

Ajmal was suspended from bowling by the ICC in September 2014 for an illegal bowling action.
