Bio

Shapoor Zadran started his cricket career in Peshawar and originally held hopes of playing for Pakistan one day, but was then convinced to trial for Afghanistan after former Pakistan bowler Iqbal Sikander started coaching the team.

The paceman made his international debut for Afghanistan in the 2004 and his maiden one-day international appearance followed against Netherlands in 2009, where he took 4-24.

In 30 ODIs since, Zadran has taken 29 wickets and in September and October 2014 he travelled to Australia and New Zealand as part of Afghanistan’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 preparations. His best outing in the practice matches was against Auckland when he took 4-77.

In 2013, he was recruited by Khulna Royal Bengals in the Bangladesh Premier League, while Zadran has also represented Afghanistan in two ICC World Twenty20 tournaments.
