Bio

Allrounder Soumya Sarkar had only played one one-day international prior to being selected for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, but his form in domestic cricket was enough to ensure his place in the squad.

A predominantly top-order batsman who also bowls medium-pace, Soumya played in the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

His maiden ODI appearance came in December 2014 against Zimbabwe, when he scored 20 from 18 balls.
