An aggressive left-handed batsman, Suresh Raina is currently more suited to the shorter forms of the game.
A young man who has grown steadily since his ODI debut in 2006, he is a regular in the ODI and Twenty20 outfits but didn’t play his first Test until 2010 – and picked up a century against Sri Lanka.
His struggles with swing and seam in England in 2011 left some doubts over his ability to cope with the demands of the five-day format, but his credentials in coloured clothes are very strong. He scored three ODI hundreds in his first 125 games, having mostly batted five or six, and smashed a Twenty20 century off 60 balls against South Africa in 2010.
