Bio

An aggressive left-handed batsman with more than 200 one-day international caps to his name, Suresh Raina will be an important part of India’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 campaign.

The 27-year-old has grown steadily since his ODI debut in 2006 and now has an average in the high 30s and more than 30 fifties to his name.

A strike rate in the 90s makes him a dangerous one-day prospect, while Raina has also had success on the Twenty20 circuit, where his strike rate is well above 100.

His test call-up came in mid-2013 and the right-handed batsman made an instant impression scoring a century on debut, but fell out of favour with selectors after 17 tests and his last appearance in the five-day game was in 2012.
