One of Pakistan’s great batsmen, Younis Khan has been padding up for his country for well over a decade.
Born in Mardan, Khan moved to Karachi as a child and his budding talent with the bat drew the attention of coaches.
His international debut came in 2000 after two years on the domestic circuit, with Khan scoring a century in his first Test.
The batsman was part of the 2003, 2007 and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cups, playing 11 matches in total.
The 2011 tournament produced his best results, including 72 against Sri Lanka and 50 against Kenya.
From 96 Tests Khan boasts an average above 50, more than 8000 runs, and 28 hundreds including a triple-hundred.
Add to the mix his exceptional prowess in the field and handy slow-medium bowling, and Khan is a formidable character.
As a captain, Younis led Pakistan to the ICC World Twenty20 title in 2009.
