Zoe Cooke was first offered a contract by the ACT Meteors as a 15-year-old rookie.
She went on to take out the ACT Women’s Player of the Year Award in four consecutive seasons and earned a full ACT contract in 2018.
Cooke was contracted by the Melbourne Renegades in WBBL|04 but did not make a debut.
The ACT Meteors fast bowler underwent back surgery on a bulging disc in 2020 and faced a five-month rehabilitation to get back onto the field.
Her surgeon advised her to start thinking about a different career, but that proved the motivation Cooke needed, and her determination to prove the surgeon wrong drove her all the way to a Brisbane Heat contract.
Cooke recovered to return for the ACT Meteors in early 2021, playing five matches and picking up four wickets for the season.
She was signed by the Heat ahead of Weber WBBL|07 and in 2023, moved to Brisbane to take up a state contract with Queensland Fire.
