For the first time in its 28 year history the Commonwealth Bank Australian Country Cricket Championships will be played in the Geelong region of Victoria.
Situated approximately 75 kms South West and 1 hours drive from Melbourne the Geelong region offers some of the finest turf venues in regional Australia.Eight teams will contest this year’s championships in a combination of two day, one day and Twenty20 matches that will test the skill, character, and fitness of regional Australia’s elite cricketing talent.
Western Australia will arrive in Geelong as defending champions and will be keen to follow on from last years’ final ball victory.
Torquay will play host to the annual feature Twenty20™ feature match between the Australian Country XI and an Australian Cricketers Association Masters XI.
Hosted by the Geelong Cricket Association, the tournament promises to be a true ‘celebration of country cricket’.
