Julie Hunter is arguably one of the most accurate bowlers in world cricket. What she lacks in pace, the 29 year old more than makes up for with an unerring line and length.
The Victorian seamer started her VicSpirit career in 2003/04, and has consistently improved her results year after year.
2009/10 was her best season in the WNCL, with regular big bags of wickets. Hunter took her best figures in domestic cricket with 4/34 against Queensland, before snaring 3/45 against the ACT.
Hunter also starred in the first instalment of the WT20 Cup, with 12 wickets at an economy of just 3.95.
Her best returns were 3/5 against the Fury and 3/13 against Queensland.
The impressive twelve months saw her make her ODI debut for Australia. Hunter has taken 19 wickets from her 16 caps, including two hauls of three.
Her T20 record has been nothing short of sensational. Hunter has taken 28 wickets from 22 matches, and was the leading wicket-taker at the 2012 ICC Women’s World T20.
Hunter went into the tournament on the back of 4/15 against India, and backed it up with a career best 5/22 against the West Indies in Colombo.
Hunter had a steady tour of England earlier in 2013, and will be a leading figure in the VicSpirit squad this season.
