Profile
One of the most experienced and talented all-rounders playing for the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars, Lisa Sthalekar has been a constant member of the squad since making her debut in 2001.
Born in India, she moved to Australia at a young age and quickly made her way into the New South Wales squad. Her ability to score quickly and get wickets with the new ball saw her progress relatively quickly into the Australian team.
In 2007, Sthalekar won the Women’s Cricketer of the Year award at the Allan Border Medal. In the same year, she was short-listed for the ICC International Player of the Year award.
Sthalekar is currently the world’s top ranked bowler in the ICC Women’s Player Rankings in the ODI format and the top ranked all-rounder and bowler in the T20 form of the game.
In addition to these awards, Sthalekar is also the most capped player in the history of the Australian WNCL.
Her skills, experience and leadership will be crucial in the upcoming summer.
