Profile
Steve Smith continued his meteoric rise through the Australia ranks last season, forging himself as key limited overs player and making his Test debut in England against Pakistan before playing in his first Ashes contest replacing Marcus North for the last three matches of the summer.
Smith’s profile in Australian cricket has risen astronomically, becoming one of a few players to represent Australia in all three formats of the game.
Since making his ODI debut in February 2010, Smith has played 24 one-dayers in 16 months, scoring just under 300 runs and taking 21 wickets. He also contributes heavily in the field having the ability to cover a number of positions from slip to the outfield.
Smith will need to keep working on all aspects of his game if he is to cement a position in the longer forms of cricket.
