Profile
Tim Paine is set for a big season in 2011-12.
Paine replaced Test ‘keeper Brad Haddin against Pakistan in England when the first choice went down with injury and then in India where he established himself as the man to take the gloves when his predecessor eventually calls it time.
His four Test career has so far yielded 287 runs at a respectable average of 35.87 with a top score of 92 against India in Mohali.
He has taken 16 catches and a single stumping providing tidy work behind the stumps.
A broken finger ended his Indian tour and he struggled to get back on the field for the remainder of the season.
He recovered to make the KFC Twenty20 International team to take on England at the back end of last summer, then represented Australia against England and went to the sub-continent for the World Cup as reserve ‘keeper/batsman.
Paine will lead the Australia A team on the VB Tour of Zimbabwe this winter.
