Quickly establishing herself as a versatile all-rounder, Jess Jonassen has become a regular member of the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars since making her debut for the team in January 2012.
Jonassen made an impression in her first three months of international cricket, claimine five ODI wickets and four wickets in the T20 format, which she backed up with decent spells at the crease, despite batting down the order.
Hailing from Rockhampton, Jonassen also has impressive figures at domestic level, playing for the Queensland Fire. Batting at number three, the left-hander was the second-highest run scorer for her state in the 2010-11 WT20 competition, which included a top score of 84 not out. Jonassen’s left-arm off-spinners also troubled the batters, claiming 11 wickets in the same season.
If previous form suggests anything, Jonassen is in for a great summer and bright future on both the domestic and international stage.
