Melbourne-born Sarah Elliott made her domestic debut for Victoria during the 2000-01 season. Following some impressive performances with the bat in the proceeding seasons, she received an international call-up in 2005 and by 2010 Elliott had cement her place in the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars side.
She was a member of the team that lifted the 2010 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 in the West Indies, playing in all matches except one and contributing key runs in the final. The following year she also played a crucial role in Australia reclaiming the Women’s Ashes trophy. Her unbeaten 81 in the second innings of the Test helped secure a seven-wicket win over England.
Elliott took some time out from cricket in 2012 when she became a mum for the first time. Having maintained her fitness during her pregnancy, it was only a matter of six weeks before she was back playing club cricket. A strong showing with the Victorian side saw her stake her claim for national selection again in 2013.
