Arguably the most experienced “rookie” in the country, Ryan Carters has this year joined the NSW Blues squad.
Carters is no stranger to the NSW set-up, having played for the Sydney Thunder in last season’s KFC T20 Big Bash League.
The 23 year old played 11 First-class matches for the Bushrangers, but decided to make the move north after Matthew Wade was forced out of the Australian Test side.
Despite finishing his Victorian career at the top of the order, Carters has shown that he can bat in a number of positions, depending on the game situation.
He showed this while playing for the Victorian Second XI against the touring English Lions, where he guided his side to victory with a sumptuous 127 off 102 in a perfectly timed run chase.
He will now be hoping to cement his spot in the Thunder line-up for BBL03.
