Meg Banting is one of the youngest members in the Western Fury squad, but the 17 year old will be confident of making her state debut sometime during 2013/14.
The youngster enjoyed a fast-start to her career, with a career best 245 runs for the 2009/10 season. This included a highest score of 55* in the under-15’s competition.
2011/12 saw her break into the A Grade competition for a prolonged period, with Banting playing a total of 16 matches in the 50-over and T20 tournaments.
The middle-order wicketkeeper-batsman failed to fire last season, adding 54 runs in eight T20 appearances, while scoring 79 from nine 50-over games.
With a career batting average of 16, Banting knows that she will need a bright start to 2013 if she wants to break into the Fury team.
