Nickelodeon back on board for another summer of fun

Summer of family fun looms as KFC BBL renews its partnership with Nickelodeon for BBL|07

Another family-friendly summer of fun is on the horizon for the KFC BBL with Cricket Australia today announcing the renewal of the partnership between the league and global kids' entertainment brand Nickelodeon.

The partnership will see the roll-out of a range of new and exciting at-match activities, digital promotions and more throughout the upcoming Big Bash season. Nickelodeon will bring free family entertainment to matches throughout BBL|07, as well as for the bumper Rebel WBBL|03 Opening Weekend at North Sydney Oval.

The fun will begin with a free, carnival-style event across December 9 and 10 which features four matches at the precinct, with the start of the BBL just over a week later.

This summer, at selected Nick Sports Matches, fans can look out for Nickelodeon activities on the ground, including a giant inflatable pitch, 'Nicket' (Nickelodeon's take on cricket), the Nick Squad and plenty of prizes and surprises.

The one-year deal follows on from the success of the partnership in BBL|06.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Nickelodeon for the seventh season of the BBL,” Cricket Australia Head of Big Bash League Kim McConnie said.

“The relationship with Nickelodeon strengthens our position as one of the best family entertainment options in the country and we can’t wait for them to deliver more fun and enjoyment for our fans this Summer.

“We believe this is going to be one of the most exciting Big Bash seasons to date, and we look forward to bringing the fast-paced on-field action and family friendly off-field atmosphere to our fans across Australia, including new locations in Alice Springs, Launceston, Canberra, and Geelong.”

General Manager and Vice President of Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand Ben Cox was thrilled to be bringing back for another year of blockbuster fun and family entertainment throughout the summer.

“Cricket fans can get ready for a whole new Nickelodeon experience on-ground at the BBL this summer when family favourites the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles attend games across the country," he said.

For the second year running, Nickelodeon will also be working with CA to bring slime-covered fun to the KFC BBL and Rebel WBBL through children’s television programming. The show is set to be hosted by former professional cricket player and Australian Survivor finalist Lee Carseldine, alongside kid-favourite Kristy Best, and will be jam-packed with fun stunts, pranks and jokes a Nickelodeon goes behind the scenes of the BBL and WBBL this summer.

Prices for the BBL season remain unchanged for the seventh consecutive year, with adult tickets from $20, kids tickets from $5, and family tickets from $42.50*.
