Clark one of three new faces on ICC panel

Former Australia captain joins ICC Cricket Committee while Mike Hesson replaces Darren Lehmann

Former Australia captain Belinda Clark has been appointed to the International Cricket Council Cricket Committee, while ex-head coach Darren Lehmann has left the group.

Clark, New Zealand coach Mike Hesson and Scotland skipper Kyle Coetzer are the new additions to the 15-person panel that is tasked with observing how cricket is played and passing on recommendations should change be needed.

Acting as the women's cricket representative on the Committee, Clark replaces England's Clare Connor, who has completed her maximum three-year term.

Having stood down as Australia coach following the Qantas Tour of South Africa last month, Lehmann makes way for Hesson as the Full Member team coach representative.

Clark's first Committee meeting is set to take place in Mumbai from 28-29 May, with agenda items including the Spirit of Cricket and player behaviour, World Test Championship playing conditions and the pace of play to be discussed.

Former India captain and coach Anil Kumble will chair the Committee that includes ICC chief executive David Richardson and chairman Shashank Manohar and past players Andrew Strauss, Mahela Jayawardene, Rahul Dravid, Tim May, Shaun Pollock and Clark.

New Zealand Cricket CEO David White, umpire Richard Kettleborough, match referee Ranjan Madugalle and MCC representative John Stephenson round out the Committee.

Clark, a dual World Cup winner in her 14-year international playing career, will juggle her new Committee responsibilities with her duties as Cricket Australia’s Executive General Manager of Game and Market Development.
