New Zealand star shares his x-rays and bad news after copping a blow during the Caribbean Premier League

Brendon McCullum will miss the remainder of the Caribbean Premier League season after copping a nasty blow to his arm in Trinbago Knight Riders’ loss to Barbados Tridents on Sunday.

McCullum had raced to 26 from 19 deliveries when he was struck on the left arm by the Tridents’ quick Wayne Parnell, forcing the former New Zealand captain to retire hurt.

He was taken to hospital where x-rays confirmed the bad news, as McCullum took to social media to confirm his CPL season was over.

Trinbago were 2-41 in the sixth over when McCullum was struck in pursuit of Barbados’ 9-136.

Things then went from bad to worse, with Dwayne Bravo (22) and Javon Searles (29) the only batsmen to reach double figures as the Knight Riders were bowled out for 120.

Eariler, Parnell had smashed 44no from 35 deliveries at No.1, having come to the crease with the Tridents 7-62 in the 10th over.

He helped the hosts reach 9-136, Parnell finishing with 3-31 to cap off a player-of-the-match display.

Despite the win, the Tridents are still set to miss out on the CPL playoffs, sitting in fifth spot on the table, while the Knight Riders remained on top of the ladder with eight wins from 10 matches.
