Maddinson to replace Guptill in CPL

New South Wales batsman is set to make his debut in the Caribbean Premier League

Talented batsman Nic Maddinson has been called up by the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the remainder of the Caribbean Premier League.

Maddinson will join up with Roger Harper's squad for the remainder of the CPL, following the departure of Kiwi international Martin Guptill to the New Zealand Test squad for their tour of Zimbabwe.

Guptill leaves the Amazon Warriors having contributed 164 runs from seven innings, with Maddinson expected to replace the right hander at the top of the order for rest of the tournament.

Maddinson played two Twenty20 matches for Australia in 2013 and 2014, scoring a total of 38 runs in matches against India and South Africa.
