Former Windies Test wicketkeeper Courtney Browne replaced legendary captain Clive Lloyd as West Indies chairman of selectors late last month.

The West Indies Cricket Board have yet to publically name their Test squad to play India, but on Wednesday revealed a 12-player squad to meet the travelling Indians in a two-day warm-up match in St Kitts and Nevis on July 9 and 10, featuring Test players Jermaine Blackwood, Rajendra Chandrika, Shane Dowrich, Shai Hope and Jomel Warrican.

Ramdin went on to discuss his form in the Windies’ most recent Test outing, a 2-0 series defeat in Australia last summer, where the 31-year-old ‘keeper posted scores of 8, 4, 0, 59 and 62.

He averaged 28.14 with the bat in the recent ODI tri-series against Australia and South Africa, passing fifty once when he scored 91 against the Aussies in Barbados.

Ramdin has played 74 Tests and scored four centuries for the Windies since 2005, averaging 25.87.

He took over as Test captain in 2014 and guided the side in 13 Tests for four wins, seven losses and two draws, before being replaced by Jason Holder in September last year.

Browne was unveiled by the West Indies Cricket Board as the new chairman of selectors in late June, a decision that haselicited a response of "Oh Lord" from ICC World T20 winning captain Darren Sammy.

Browne, who has been a member of the Windies selection panel for almost six years, played 20 Tests and 46 one-day internationals for the West Indies between 1995 and 2005. He made his Test debut against Australia in Kingston in 1995, a match the Aussies won to win the Frank Worrell Trophy for the first time in two decades.

Browne has been appointed for a two-year term and will take on the role immediately, working with Lloyd in a "handover" period before taking on the role solo in October.

"We are satisfied that Clive’s upcoming role will serve as another great opportunity to promote the best of West Indies Cricket," said WICB president Dave Cameron at the time.
