Quick Single: Perry misses opener due to injury

Perry, 23, and Toomua, 24, have been together since a chance meeting at the Qantas Club in Sydney Airport in 2012.

But the two may never have met at all if not for the encouragement of Brumbies media manager Elliott Woods.

"A few days before (they met), Matt just happened to be talking about how he was keen on her," Woods told cricket.com.au.

"We were flying up to Darwin and it was a total coincidence that she just happened to be there.

"I told him to go over and get a photo with her, but he got a bit nervous. So I took him over and asked her if he could have a photo.

"He's a bit shy, the big fella, so he needed a bit of a nudge.

"And the next day I chased up her number for him."

Perry, who has played five Tests, 60 ODIs and 56 T20's for the Southern Stars, has also represented Australia in football.
