Cummins rockets up to No.3 in rankings

Australia's pace ace continues his rapid rise, while Windies star claims top spot among allrounders

Australian quick Pat Cummins has moved up to third in the latest ICC Test bowling rankings after his career-best 10-wicket haul against Sri Lanka in Brisbane.

And West Indies skipper Jason Holder has been rewarded for his extraordinary performance against England in Barbados and is now the world’s top-ranked Test allrounder.

Cummins jumped from fourth to third spot, moving ahead of Proteas quick Vernon Philander, to be behind just South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada and England’s Jimmy Anderson on the bowling rankings.

Perfect 10: Cummins hits new high

Windies quick Kemar Roach also gained ground, moving up five spots to be 20th after his starring role with the ball at Kensington Oval.

There was little movement at the top of the batting rankings (India’s Virat Kohli retains top spot), but Holder was the big winner, jumping ahead of Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and India’s Ravi Jadeja to be the top-ranked allrounder following his incredible double hundred against England.

Chase's eight destroys England

Australian pair Travis Head (up 17 spots to 43rd) and Marnus Labuschagne (up 21 to 84th) both made gains after top-scoring for the Aussies at the Gabba.
