In it, Virat Kohli's magnificent 100no off 52 balls was the fastest ODI century by an Indian and the fastest scored against Australia.

Australia's chase on Saturday was their best in India and their fourth best chase of all-time.

While Australian all-rounder James Faulkner's one-over blitz against Ishant Sharma, where he took 30 runs to change the game, has only been bettered four times in the 50-over game.

"To be brutally honest I suppose it's been an unbelievable series so far in the first three games," said Faulkner, whose explosive 64 off 29 deliveries stole victory from India in Mohali.

"Every single team that's batted first has posted over 300.

"It's been a really good series so far and I'm sure there's going to be some strong cricket played for the last four games."

Should Australia prevail in the last four matches of the series they will take the No.l ranking off India - a target that has not escaped the tourists.

And it's this goal which Faulkner attributes as the primary reason for the unbelievable results seen in the opening three matches.

"Obviously we are ranked one and two for a reason," he said.

"You have seen that in the series how close the games are and the totals that have been scored."
