England quick takes hat-trick - against England

David Willey takes a hat-trick for Mumbai XI against his teammates while Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in warm-up clash

England's David Willey has warmed-up for the ICC World T20 by taking a hat-trick in a practice match - against his own teammates.

England had one final hit-out before their tournament opener against West Indies on Wednesday, taking on a Mumbai XI featuring four of their own players as all 15 members of the squad had some game time.

Willey, James Vince, Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid all pulled on a Mumbai shirt and Willey ended his four-over spell in style, removing Joe Root, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan with the final three balls of the innings to complete a hat-trick.

The left-armer finished with 3-35 as England posted 8-177 while Rashid also took two wickets. Joe Root top-scored with 48 from 34 balls while openers Jason Roy (32 from 21) and Alex Hales (37 from 23) as well as allrounder Ben Stokes (30 from 23) enjoyed their time in the middle.

Elsewhere, Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by 15 runs in their warm-up match in Kolkata.

Mohammad Hafeez hit a 49-ball undefeated 70 and left-arm spinner Imad Wasim claimed 4-25 to steer Pakistan home ahead of their tournament opener against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

Choosing to bat first, Pakistan scored 5-157 with Hafeez hitting nine fours and one six.

Sri Lanka, the defending World T20 champions, were restricted to 9-142 in reply with Lahiru Thirimanne top-scoring with 45 off 37 balls, including two sixes.

Wasim dismissed Thirimanne and also accounted for opener Dinesh Chandimal (30), Chamara Kapugedera (14) and Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews (10).

Earlier, openers Sharjeel Khan (23) and Ahmed Shehzad (18) added 39 runs for Pakistan's opening wicket.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfraz Ahmed (13) and Umar Akmal (19) also contributed, while captain Shahid Afridi was out first ball in the 19th over.

Pakistan were originally set to play a local state side on Saturday but delayed their departure for the tournament due to security reasons.
