India cruise to 2-0 series lead

Tourists enjoy eight-wicket win after Zimbabwe fall apart to be bowled out for 126

India have cruised to an eight-wicket win to take a 2-0 ODI series lead over Zimbabwe in Harare.

Zimbabwe had fought their way to 3-106 after 25 overs before they collapsed spectacularly, losing 7-20 inside 10 overs to be skittled for 126.

Quick Single: Warner ruled out of tri-series

Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal claimed the best bowling figures with 3-25 from six overs, while Barinder Sran (2-17) and Dhawal Kulkarni (2-31) both snared multiple wickets.

The tourists lost just two wickets in the chase - KL Rahul for 33 and fellow opener Karun Nair (39), who fell with just two runs required for victory, Ambati Rayudu (41no) and Manish Pandey (4no) seeing their side home with 23.1 overs to spare.

Vusi Sibanda was the best performer for Zimbabwe, making 53 from 69.

Rahul, who scored a wonderful hundred on debut in the opening match of the series, becoming the first Indian player to do so, added his name into the record books once more, albeit a rather niche entry this time around; in making 33 after his 100 not out in the first match, he passed Woorkeri Raman's mark of 130 runs until a first dismissal in ODIs by an Indian.

Chahal was another debutant in the series opener, and added three more wickets to his record after taking 1-27 first time out.

The 25-year-old plies his trade with Royal Challengers Bangalore, and had a breakout tournament with the ball, taking 21 wickets to earn national selection.
