Renegades confirm star signings for BBL|06

Dwayne Bravo and Aaron Finch sign new deals as Renegades chase their second finals berth

Melbourne Renegades have confirmed the signing of ICC World T20 winner Dwayne Bravo for the upcoming KFC Big Bash League season while captain Aaron Finch has signed a new long-term deal.

Bravo, the star West Indies allrounder, returns to Melbourne on a one-year deal for his third consecutive season at the Renegades.

Finch, the second-ranked T20 batsman in the world, has committed until the end of BBL|08.

The deal with Bravo means one of the franchise's two international contracts has been taken, with the Renegades looking for another overseas player to replace BBL|05 import Chris Gayle.

They are also on the hunt for a new head coach after David Saker was named as Australia's fast-bowling coach last month.

"Having Dwayne back is obviously fantastic," CEO Stuart Coventry said of Bravo, last year's Player of the Year.

"He was a driving force for us last season and brings an enthusiasm and intensity about his play that is a really positive combination for the rest of the squad.

"We’re delighted Aaron has agreed to extend his relationship with the club. As captain he is a critical part of our Renegades family and a big factor for our members and fans. His record in the BBL needs no introduction and we’re looking forward to the next three seasons."

It's yet another big signing for the Renegades in a busy off-season that has seen them snare veteran spinner Brad Hogg and young batsman Marcus Harris from the Perth Scorchers.

Last week, the club also signed a new five-year deal to play their home matches at Etihad Stadium.

The red half of Melbourne are looking to bounce back after a disappointing BBL|05 campaign, where they missed the finals for the fourth time in five seasons.
