Giant paceman Mohammad Irfan named in one-day squad to meet Australia in five ODIs in January

Pakistan have recalled giant paceman Mohammad Irfan to their one-day international squad for the upcoming VB ODI series against Australia.

Irfan has been included in a 15-man squad, which they announced following their second Test defeat at the MCG against Australia.

Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has been overlooked for selection.

"The ODI team has been selected keeping in mind the conditions in Australia and the performances of players in the recent ODI series against West Indies and in the domestic cricket," said PCB chief selector Inzamam ul Haq.

"The team is a fine blend of experience and youth, and the selectors have stick to the same combination of players selected against West Indies series earlier and believe that team will do well in the tour."

The first of five VB ODIs will be played on January 13 at the Gabba before matches at the MCG on January 15, the WACA Ground on January 19, the SCG on January 22 and finally at Adelaide Oval on Australia Day (January 26).
