There was a general theme running through the reaction to Cricket Australia's appointment of its new national men's team coach this morning: Australia is in safe hands moving forward with Justin Langer at the helm.
As had long been forecast, Langer was confirmed as Darren Lehmann's replacement today, and the Western Australia who played 105 Tests for his country and was renowned through his career for his toughness, tenacity and a devilish grin was received by all and sundry as a wise selection.
