One of Australia's greatest ever netballers, Sharelle McMahon will reprise her relationship with cricket to head Cricket Victoria's female program
Victoria lands netball superstar McMahon for head role
Former Australia netball captain Sharelle McMahon has made a code switch, taking up a role as head of female cricket with Cricket Victoria.
McMahon, who has been working as an assistant coach with the Melbourne Vixens in the Super Netball competition and shooting specialist coach with Australia's national team, will oversee all aspects of Victorian cricket's female performance pathway.
McMahon was previously a mentor and club ambassador for the Melbourne Stars back in 2015 for the inaugural season of the WBBL.

"I've always prided myself on new challenges and new learning and this is a fantastic opportunity to bring my knowledge of high performance and elite women's sport to Cricket Victoria," she said in a statement.
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to work on what cricket does well, where it can improve and how we drive a new era of female engagement in cricket."

"There are some who may be surprised that we have looked outside cricket for a leader of the women's program, however, we were looking for a dynamic presence to lead and enhance our entire female cricket environment, rather than a coach, and I know Sharelle will have a wonderful impact on our system," Cummins said.
