Finch rises up T20 rankings after latest update

Australia's T20 skipper and two of his star bowlers climb up the rankings following the dominant start to the men's international summer

Limited-overs captain Aaron Finch has reclaimed his mantle as Australia's premier T20 batter following the latest update of the official player rankings.

Finch scored 207 runs in three matches each against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, scoring at a blistering 161.71 runs per 100 balls faced.

The Victorian's bruising form has seen him move to No.2 on the ICC T20 batting rankings, behind Pakistan counterpart Babar Azam.

Finch is now Australia's top-ranked T20 batter, replacing teammate and close friend Glenn Maxwell, who withdrew from the Gillette T20I Series against Sri Lanka on mental health grounds.

Maxwell moves from No.2 to No.5 and is now in second position on the T20 allrounder rankings behind Afghanistan's Mohammad Nabi.

Agar loving teaming up with Zampa in T20 fixtures

Australia's twin spin attack of Adam Zampa and Ashton Agar have been rewarded for their impressive performances to start the summer.

Zampa, with five wickets at 6.57 runs per over, enters the top five T20 bowlers at No.4, while Agar (seven wickets at 5.86 RPO) rockets up 57 places to 9th.

England batter Dawid Malan bolts into third spot after his brilliant 103no in Napier and is joined in the top 10 by his captain Eoin  Morgan in 9th spot, alongside hard-hitting New Zealand opener Martin Guptill.

Pakistan sit atop the T20 team rankings on 270 points, just one point ahead of Australia following their 2-0 defeat this month.

England (265 points), South Africa (262) and India (260) round out the top five.
