Bailey leads Tigers JLT One-Day Cup squad

A mixture of youth and experience will be hoping to improve on last summer's fifth-place finish

Hobart’s Blundstone Arena will host this summer’s JLT One-Day Cup final and will be hoping the Tasmanian Tigers squad announced today will feature in the tournament decider.

Tasmania named their 14-man squad today for the 50-over competition, with former Australia captain George Bailey once again leading the Tigers.

Bailey is joined by Jackson Bird, Alex Doolan, Cameron Boyce and Ben Dunk as players with international experience in the group aiming to break an eight-year one-day title drought.

Those senior players are complemented by newcomers Riley Meredith, Tom Rogers and Charlie Wakim.

The 23-match competition starts in Brisbane on September 27 before shifting to Perth, Sydney and then Hobart for final round-robin match, the elimination final and the grand final on October 21.

The Tigers play their first game against NSW Blues on October 2 at the WACA Ground then face Victoria two days later at the same venue.
