At 192cm, Tom O’Donnell extracts the necessary bounce to accompany his pace and swing, making him a tough prospect to face. A late bloomer to the National Championships, the son of former Test player Simon showed enough to earn selection on the tour of Dubai in the recent Under 19 series. He will need work on his line and length, most pace bowlers his age do, but his whippy left-arm action is reminiscent of Mitchell Starc and with some more pathway performances should attract state attention.
