A veteran right-arm seamer who has played several seasons in England, Andrew Tye made a good impression in the 2013 Ryobi Cup, finishing second on the wickets tally with 13 from five matches, which included a haul of 5-46 against Tasmania.

He couldn’t break into the WA Sheffield Shield side that summer, but managed three matches for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League.

He started the 2014-15 season well, picking up 4-29 against United Arab Emirates in Perth.

Tye has become known for his crafty variations in cricket’s limited-overs formats, highly regarded as one of Perth Scorchers' primary bowlers. His consistent T20 form earned Tye Australian selection, including the squad for the 2016 World T20.

Tye made hisT20 debut for Australia against India in January 2016, reward for his consistent Big Bash League performances.
