Talented wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin, was originally a fast bowler who kept wicket once he was finished with the ball. He represented his country at under-19 level before earning his first senior selection at age 19.

He started his international career behind the stumps impressively and was a key member of West Indies’ 2007 World Cup line-up.

Inconsistency with the bat and behind the stumps saw Ramdin dropped from the Test and ODI in 2010 and missed the 2011 World Cup, but he returned to the one-day team later that year.

Ramdin scored two centuries and two fifties in 2014, including 169 from 121 balls against Bangladesh in August and was awarded the Test team captaincy in May 2014 when he replaced Darren Sammy.
