A journeyman allrounder who has spent time with New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria, Dan Christian came within inches of a Test debut after being picked in the squad for the 2011 Boxing Day Test.
He failed to make the final XI, but just months later picked up 5-31 in an ODI against Sri Lanka at the MCG, including a hat-trick. The previous year, he had been bought by Indian Premier League franchise Deccan Chargers for an extraordinary $900,000 on the back of some solid performances for Big Bash League franchise Brisbane Heat.
He had also been South Australia's leading run-scorer and second highest wicket-taker in the Ryobi Cup that season, and filled in as Redbacks captain.
But after he was suspended by South Australia for three angry outbursts during the 2012-13 season, Christian moved to Victoria in 2013.
He started the summer with a century in the Ryobi Cup, but failed to shine in the Sheffield Shield before he headed to England to play Twenty20 cricket for Middlesex. The highlight of his stint in the UK came against Kent, when he blasted 129 from 57 balls in a losing score of 192.
